The Wisdom of the Waning

The Moon is magic in all her phases. The moon represents our internal waters, our intuition, our feeling sense, and our knowingness within our very bones. We know it impacts the oceans and our bodies. The ancients used the moon as the calendar, keeping time before “time”. They knew the patterns and watched the sacred feminine amongst them mirror it in both their journeys and energy, the very ebb and flow of life.

Summer of Sovereigns: The 3 Assertions

Every single day, witches across the globe wake up and know their magic. They know the song of their hearts, they know how to align such songs with the world around them, and they harness their individual wills paired with focused actions to ensure the outcomes are in their favor. They hold within them the power of their own truths, their desires, and the will to be sovereigns.

Where Curiosity Grows

After my initiation and the Spring Equinox, I found that the space and energy reserved for precise action forward towards my goals did not have the same frenetic feeling as years long past. I have many ideas, but the cardinal fire sign (which happens to be my sun sign as well) Aries does not bringContinueContinue reading “Where Curiosity Grows”

The Spring of Spirit and Soul

We all know the story of Hekate guiding Persephone back to the land of the alive from her underworld throne and Demeter gave the spirit of spring back to the natural world. In celebration the land began to bloom and became prosperous. I weave the story slightly differently for myself, having made my own PersephoneContinueContinue reading “The Spring of Spirit and Soul”

Dark Moon, Dark Offering

The dark moon is a liminal time for Hekatean witches, the darkness signaling the end and the beginning of a lunar month. The ancients celebrated this time by leaving offerings at the crossroads to Hekate, but as a modern practitioner I choose to recognize that I am made up of the same crossroads. I amContinueContinue reading “Dark Moon, Dark Offering”

Witch at Work

Magic is not relegated to after office hours, although that is when I happen to perform so much of my own witchery. The thing about building a witchcraft practice is that it means we build it up and actually practice it day to day. We create our own rituals, our own flow, and we leaveContinueContinue reading “Witch at Work”

Truth and Faultlines

“What would the world be like if we all knew we could get these instant, radical, lifechanging transformations to happen simply through the power of ideas being presented to our minds, through the natural use of words on our bodies.” Kristin Rivas, The life-changing power of words, TEDxRainier, 2014 Transformative insights do happen in anContinueContinue reading “Truth and Faultlines”

Spellcrafting: Claiming Wholly Holy Space

Whether you have recently moved into a new home or notice the energy in your most sacred spaces is off, this is one of my most treasured spells of claiming (or reclaiming) my own holy spaces and the word ‘holy’ at the crossroads of my own ‘wholeness’. The Witch’s Holy Space The use of theContinueContinue reading “Spellcrafting: Claiming Wholly Holy Space”

The Foundations of Rewilding

I have begun to recognize a pattern or noticed that the word ‘witch’, especially when it is claimed for oneself, seems to be quite synonymous with a rewilding. It is a theme or pattern because that is a part of the continuous spiral that we walk. Our witchcraft and spellwork is only displayed in itsContinueContinue reading “The Foundations of Rewilding”
